August 7 - 9, 2026

Join us for a fun-filled weekend of learning, engagement and camaraderie.

Create new Whitman memories while you learn ways to reconnect and engage with your classmates! 

AT WAVE, YOU WILL:

🔷 Stay at the newly completed Nancy Serrurier Village.

🔷 Connect with campus leadership.

🔷 Gain insight into the current campus climate.

🔷 Receive updates from Admissions and the Career Center.

🔷 Explore the newest innovations within the curriculum.

🔷 Make new discoveries with a campus scavenger hunt.

🔷 Celebrate community with dinner at the Village.

SCHEDULE:

Friday, August 7

Noon - 4 pm: Check-In at Harvey Hall

Nancy Serrurier Village, Corner of Boyer Avenue and Nancy Serrurier Way

Pick up your welcome packet and your room keys, if you are staying on campus.

6 - 8 pm: Dinner with the President

Join President Sarah Bolton for an evening dedicated to the future of the college and the impact of the volunteer community. Celebrate and honor the distinguished volunteers (you!) whose exceptional service has gone above and beyond for Whitman.

Saturday, August 8

8 am: Breakfast

Meet other volunteers and staff for a casual breakfast before the morning session.

9 am - Noon: Morning Sessions

Begin your WAVE experience with a high-energy team challenge before diving into the "State of the College." You'll receive essential briefings on Admissions, Academic innovations, and the impact of our latest fundraising efforts.

Noon: Lunch with Career and Community Engagement Center

Join staff and students from the Career and Community Engagement Center for lunch and conversation regarding career mentoring, community engagement, and the Whitman Internship Grant (WIG).

1:30 pm: Afternoon Sessions

Mingle and collaborate with other Whitman volunteers as you receive practical training on drafting impactful communications, navigating social media etiquette, and leveraging the systems we utilize to keep the Whitman Community connected.

6 pm: Dinner at The Village with the Blues Bites

Nancy Serrurier Village, Corner of Boyer Avenue and Nancy Serrurier Way

Cap off WAVE with a relaxed, open-air celebration in the heart of the new junior-senior village. Enjoy a casual evening of mingling in the shared outdoor space, featuring local flavors from the new "Blues Bites" food truck! It's the perfect setting to unwind and enjoy the vibrant spirit of the new Village with fellow Whitties.

Sunday, August 9

9 am: Closing Reflections

Wrap up your weekend with this final gathering of the WAVE community before heading home with new skills and renewed Whitman pride.
